These days, just about everyone starts their real estate search on the internet. It’s nice and non-confrontational to sit in the privacy of your own home and see what’s available. So, yeah, there are a lot of real estate search websites out there. Some of them are pretty user friendly and fairly up to date. Unfortunately, a some of them are not kept current at all. Do you know what takes the edge off your excitement after spending hours searching for the perfect Boise properties? Finding out that your favorite ones all sold six months ago. I get calls all the time from buyers who saw a property on Zillow.com, or Yahoo! Real Estate, and every single one of them were already sold. That’s because the big nationwide search sites use a different system than we have here with the Boise MLS. Our database refreshes every 15 minutes, theirs can take weeks to catch up. They aren’t doing it to trick anyone, it’s just a different system.
The only sure way of getting the most current information is to go DIRECTLY to the source of all publicly listed properties: The Boise MLS. It’s actually called the Intermountain MLS, and you can technically search for properties in most of Idaho.
